Each month we’ll feature a different adoptable pet, chosen as a favorite by a CBHS staff member or volunteer.
This month’s “Pick of the Litter” has been chosen by CBHS Adoption Counselor, Jess Foelske
“The pet I am absolutely in love with is Dixie, our American Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix! She is such a sweet, affectionate girl that will lick your face right off if given the chance!! Dixie was brought into the shelter in February after being hit by a car. Her pelvis was broken. After months of therapy and recuperation, she has made a full recovery. She definitely loves her “people food” and will do almost anything for a tasty treat. Dixie can be “dog selective,” but she is doing much better around other dogs than when she first came in. Unfortunately, she is NOT a cat lover either. Dixie is so intelligent, will sit on command, and instantly catch a treat mid-air! And don’t even get me started about those perfect, puppy dog eyes of hers. I’ve come to love and appreciate Dixie for her outgoing, charismatic personality. I still find it hard to believe that she is currently our longest dog resident!”
Dixie’s adoption profile can be viewed on our website here, or better yet, stop in to our Adoption Center and meet Dixie for yourself today! We’re open every day except for Monday. To fill out an adoption application, click here.
