Pick of the Litter: Katana

This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Katana, chosen by, CBHS Volunteer Ashley Ubbelohde.

Ashley and Katana

“This precious little pooch packs a punch. Katana is the sweetest pittie you will ever meet, her brown eyes will melt you like a chocolate bar on a hot day. She would be both the best running companion and couch potato with you. Like any dog, she needs a good balance of exercise and naps. She loves the indoors and outdoors equally. Katana just loves being in the company of any one willing to give her some lovin’s, especially belly rubs! She doesn’t understand personal space so be ready to get up close and comfortable with her. She has a beautiful brown and black brindle coat that glistens in the sunshine, it’s short and doesn’t shed much so she wouldn’t add to your current cleaning regiment. When you come home she will be the happiest pup and her tail will always wag for you; you might even get a slobbery kiss. She’s a quiet gal so you won’t have to worry about excessive barking or annoying neighbors. She will bark at other dogs if they’re too close, she’s selfish for your attention and would need to be the only animal in the home. She doesn’t pull on the leash on walkies, she knows sit, lay down, and is potty trained. She would be willing to learn more tricks for treats as rewards too. I’m perplexed as to why someone hasn’t scooped this good girl up. Stop by Cedar Bend to visit Katana, she’s sure to win your heart over.”

Pick of the Litter: Darwin

This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Darwin, chosen by, CBHS Intern Katelynn Panning.

“I chose Darwin for this months “Pick of the Litter” because he is a sweet boy who deserves a loving home.  Darwin has gone on many field trips with me and has exceeded my expectations of him every time.  I have taken him to a nursing home, to a school, and to a Buck’s baseball game.  No matter where we go, he is very laid back, quiet, and just wants to cuddle with everyone he meets, he likes to be a lap dog if you let him.  This sweet boy greets everyone with a tail wag and even a few kisses.  A few other characteristics I have noticed about him is that he walks well on a leash and does well during car rides.  He would make a great companion in any loving home.  I know Darwin would love to make some new friends so come out to the Cedar Bend Humane Society today to meet him!”

Pick of the Litter: Matrix

This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Matrix, chosen by, CBHS Medical Technician, Nicole Woodson.

“I chose Matrix for “pick of the litter” because he is a very loving, ambitious boy and wants nothing more than to please his person. He is VERY toy motivated and if you give him a chance to show you his moves he will for sure win you over! He still has a ton of puppy energy to burn but he does calm down when asked. Matrix needs someone willing to help him with basic training to teach him some manners and it is best if he is the only pet in the home. With a little patience, I know that he could be a wonderful companion. Stop in and give him a chance to show you what he’s capable of today!”

“I choose Uno for this month’s Pick of the Litter because he is a big whole hunk of love, he is super smiley too! He loves to sit on your lap as if he’s a lap dog; He doesn’t realize how large he really is. He really has become one of my favorite dogs I’ve ever had the pleasure of caring for each day, he just makes my day so much better. Uno is a 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier and came to Cedar Bend as an owner surrender. He has come such a long way and has become a very good boy on a leash, I love him so much and I can’t wait to see someone else take to him as much as I have. He needs a house without cats, dogs should meet with him beforehand. Come out to Cedar Bend Humane Society to meet Uno as soon as possible!”

Pick of the Litter: Bash

This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Bash, chosen by, CBHS Kennel Attendant, Merry MacDonald.

“Having a big soft spot for timid pups, Bash captured my heart immediately when he first arrived at Cedar Bend. Bash is a beautiful 2-year-old pit bull mix that came to CBHS as an owner surrender. Like many shelter dogs, he needs some extra TLC. On the surface, he’s a fearful dog but after getting to know you, he’s very sweet! Shelter life is stressful for Bash, but I know in the right home he could truly blossom into an incredible friend. Bash needs someone with a lot of patience, love, & understanding. He needs someone that can help him come out of his shell and become the confident dog I know he can be. To become his very best doggy self, he would need a home without children or other dogs. If you think you could change this sweet boys life, come out to Cedar Bend and meet him! Maybe he could change your life too.”

Pick of the Litter: Cooper

This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Cooper, chosen by, CBHS Intake Coordinator, Aly Phelps.

20190208_132405

“I choose Cooper as this months “Pick of the litter” because this handsome boy gets overlooked due to his breed. Cooper is almost 2 years old and full of playful energy. Cooper loves to play and will be your best friend especially if you have a toy for him to fetch. Cooper has so much love to give he even shows it with the heart on his nose. Cooper loves to have all the attention and gets so excited when he first sees us in the morning. He always sits so nicely when it’s time to get him out for the day and his favorite part of the day is getting to run in the large grass pen. Cooper is a wonderful dog who deserves all the love and affection there is, with that being said, Cooper would do best as the only pet in the house as he just wants all the affection given to him. Stop out and come meet Cooper you will just love him.”

“Gertrude is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet and has won my heart with her time here at Cedar Bend! She is a 16-month-old pit bull mix and has been here since early November. She was originally rescued by the ASPCA and due to our wonderful rescue exchange programs, we have had the honor to spend some time with her while she’s waiting on her furrever home. Gertrude is very loving and affectionate. She is very good with children of all ages, but would probably do best as the only pup in her new home.  Sweet Gertrude will forever have my heart and I know when you stop out to see her she will steal yours as well!”
