Pick of the Litter: Uno

This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Uno, chosen by, CBHS Kennel Attendant, Kelsi Johnson.

“I choose Uno for this month’s Pick of the Litter because he is a big whole hunk of love, he is super smiley too! He loves to sit on your lap as if he’s a lap dog; He doesn’t realize how large he really is. He really has become one of my favorite dogs I’ve ever had the pleasure of caring for each day, he just makes my day so much better. Uno is a 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier and came to Cedar Bend as an owner surrender. He has come such a long way and has become a very good boy on a leash, I love him so much and I can’t wait to see someone else take to him as much as I have. He needs a house without cats, dogs should meet with him beforehand. Come out to Cedar Bend Humane Society to meet Uno as soon as possible!”

Visit the Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo to meet Uno and fill out an adoption application. Our adoption center is open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.

Pick of the Litter: Bash

This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Bash, chosen by, CBHS Kennel Attendant, Merry MacDonald.

“Having a big soft spot for timid pups, Bash captured my heart immediately when he first arrived at Cedar Bend. Bash is a beautiful 2-year-old pit bull mix that came to CBHS as an owner surrender. Like many shelter dogs, he needs some extra TLC. On the surface, he’s a fearful dog but after getting to know you, he’s very sweet! Shelter life is stressful for Bash, but I know in the right home he could truly blossom into an incredible friend. Bash needs someone with a lot of patience, love, & understanding. He needs someone that can help him come out of his shell and become the confident dog I know he can be. To become his very best doggy self, he would need a home without children or other dogs. If you think you could change this sweet boys life, come out to Cedar Bend and meet him! Maybe he could change your life too.”

Visit the Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo to meet Bash and fill out an adoption application. Our adoption center is open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.

Pick of the Litter: Cooper

This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Cooper, chosen by, CBHS Intake Coordinator, Aly Phelps.

“I choose Cooper as this months “Pick of the litter” because this handsome boy gets overlooked due to his breed. Cooper is almost 2 years old and full of playful energy. Cooper loves to play and will be your best friend especially if you have a toy for him to fetch. Cooper has so much love to give he even shows it with the heart on his nose. Cooper loves to have all the attention and gets so excited when he first sees us in the morning. He always sits so nicely when it’s time to get him out for the day and his favorite part of the day is getting to run in the large grass pen. Cooper is a wonderful dog who deserves all the love and affection there is, with that being said, Cooper would do best as the only pet in the house as he just wants all the affection given to him. Stop out and come meet Cooper you will just love him.”

Pick of the Litter: Gertrude

This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Gertrude, chosen by, CBHS Adoption Counselor, Emma Simpson.

“Gertrude is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet and has won my heart with her time here at Cedar Bend! She is a 16-month-old pit bull mix and has been here since early November. She was originally rescued by the ASPCA and due to our wonderful rescue exchange programs, we have had the honor to spend some time with her while she’s waiting on her furrever home. Gertrude is very loving and affectionate. She is very good with children of all ages, but would probably do best as the only pup in her new home.  Sweet Gertrude will forever have my heart and I know when you stop out to see her she will steal yours as well!”

Visit the Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo to meet Gertrude and fill out an adoption application. Our adoption center is open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.

“Sweet Georgia has completely won over my heart. She has accompanied me at numerous nursing home and elementary school visits, and you can tell that she absolutely loves all of the attention and compliments she receives from her tail wags that never stop. She has a calm and sweet demeanor, walks well on a leash, and gets excited whenever it’s time to go outside …and have you seen those big, beautiful ears?! Georgia is a 9-year-old Chocolate Lab & Shepherd Mix and would do best as the only pet in the house. She is waiting patiently at the Cedar Bend Humane Society for a family to come adopt her and give her the pampering she deserves!”

“Honey is a 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier. Honey originally came to us as a stray out of Waterloo, was adopted, but then came back in as a stray again. Honey lives up to her name, and is as sweet as can be! She is an easy going girl but has some energy when she first comes out of her kennel. She gets along with other dogs but would do best in a home with no cats. Honey is a super loving girl and is definitely a staff favorite! Stop out and meet this adorable girl today!”

Pick of the Litter: Winston

This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Winston, chosen by Adoption Counselor/Intake Coordinator, Sabryna Leise.

20181001_133532 (2)

“When Winston came into Cedar Bend at the end of July as a stray from Waterloo, he was extremely thin and missing a bunch of hair from a severe flea allergy. Since being here he has gained some weight and has grown all of his hair back. Winston is one of the most friendly cats I have encountered while working here at CBHS and is also one of the few adult cats that I know that enjoys being held. Winston seems to get along with other cats and every person he meets. Now that Winston is happy and healthy all he is missing is his forever home. He is only 3 years old and has a lot of life left to live and if you open up your heart and home to this handsome boy I promise you won’t regret it!”

Visit the Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo to meet Winston and fill out an adoption application. Our adoption center is open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.
