This month’s “Pick of the Litter” is Shenzi, chosen by Administrative Assistant, Caitlyn Wegner.
“Shenzi came to the shelter with her 7, 2 week old kittens in October. Knowing that a litter of 7 kittens along with a mother cat was a lot for anyone to take on, I took all 8 of them home to give Shenzi a safe place to raise her kittens and also a safe, fun home for her kittens to grow into amazing little critters. Shenzi was a great mother to her kittens. She was also a perfect cat in my home. She is very lovable, but is not a cat that will be under foot all of the time. Though she is lovable and sweet, she is also very independent. Shenzi does great with other cats and will adjust well to dogs. It breaks my heart to see her still at the shelter. She is a great cat and deserves a home to call her own. If I did not already have 2 cats of my own, she would be living in my home…no doubt.”
Visit the Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo to meet Shenzi and fill out an adoption application. Our adoption center is open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.
